Reefit Backs the Return of the Australian Three Peaks Race
The Three Peaks is a uniquely Tasmanian event, combining short-handed offshore sailing with mountain running. Starting at Beauty Point on the Tamar River, teams race around Tasmania's east coast via Flinders Island and Coles Bay before finishing in Hobart. Along the way, the runners tackle Mt Strzelecki, Mt Freycinet and kunanyi/Mt Wellington.
It’s a tough event where preparation, teamwork and reliability are important, and that makes it a natural fit for Reefit.
For us, the partnership is also about supporting something genuinely Tasmanian. Reefit's design and manufacturing are based here in Tasmania, and we're proud to support an event with such a strong connection to Tasmania's sailing community.
After last being raced in 2013, the Australian Three Peaks Race returns in 2027, beginning a new chapter for an event that has been part of Tasmania's sailing and endurance history since 1989.
Two Great Tasmanian Comebacks
The timing of the partnership also has a special significance for Reefit.
The Australian Three Peaks Race is returning after last being held in 2013. At the same time, Reefit is rebuilding after the fire earlier this year destroyed our manufacturing facility, machinery and tooling.
Two very different Tasmanian stories, but both are being brought back to life.
That’s what makes becoming the Naming Rights Sponsor about more than simply putting the Reefit name on the race. It’s an opportunity to support the return of a great Tasmanian event while we rebuild and begin the next chapter of Reefit ourselves.
There’s something pretty fitting about the two coming back together.
We’re proud to be part of the return of the Reefit Australian Three Peaks Race and look forward to seeing it back on the water in 2027.
